Where the Wild Things Grow

A Note On Collie Colors

It is the firm position of this kennel and the Old Time Scotch Collie association that ALL HISTORICAL collie coat colors are acceptable not only the ones deemed so by the AKC Rough Collie Club. Therefore not only do we have sable, merle, tricolor and color headed whites, we also promote bi-black, bi-blue, atypical merle (very little patching), seal, brindle, yellow (also called milk sable) and black and tan. Colors raised by Lanz Hollow Farm & Kennel include: Sable, Bi-black, Bi-blue, Atypical Merle, Yellow, Tri-color and we hope to have standard merle in the future. We really love the myriad of colors allowed in this program, not only is it historically accurate but it allows for so much more genetic diversity. Color is the spice of life.
